Just a little recreational coding
10.31.07 - 8:10 pm (CT)
I spent maybe an hour or so playing around with the code (mostly the CSS) for the 130th Birthday Bash Countdown (look down and to your right). I've had that code laying around here for a number of years, since before I first mentioned my 130th birthday party. As for why I bothered adding that little JavaScript, well, I guess it's like so many other things around here
because I can. It's one of those things that a recreational coder sees and then plays around with for whatever reason the feel like using. Anyway, thanks to EarthWeb.com and Ramon Suter for supplying me with the code to play around with.
Smoking
NOT!
10.16.07 - 3:30 pm (CT)
How it came about, I'm not sure, but I've always said I'd smoke as long as I enjoyed it, which I figured would be until I died sometime after my 130th birthday bash in 2083. Well, a few weeks ago I started not enjoying them anymore, so after 40 years I quit, and so far, so good. I used the patch along with deep, "dragging" breaths for the first few days and then quit the patch, so now whenever I get the urge I just take a deep breath or two, then move on.
Please keep in mind that none of this would be possible without divine assistance

Gee, I sure thought I could finish painting the front porch in a jiff and then move to the back door with the can, quick cover the pool, and dig out a tree growing in my flowerbed, but today was not my day to be done with my outside dithering. Between the lousy weather and it taking a heck of a long time to paint all those little spindles, plus having to trim the bushes in front those spindles so I could get at some of them, well all I can say is
harrumph.

I suppose I could let it bug me for the rest of the day, but why bother, as it's just like house dust, it's not like it's going anywhere, it'll still be there tomorrow or whenever I get around to dealing with it. Oh well, maybe tomorrow I'll be done dithering with the outside stuff and if not, there's always the day after that
Besides, it's not like I'm getting paid to do all of this dithering, although there is a certain amount of satisfaction that one gets from a finishing what one starts.
I guess today my satisfaction will have to come from finishing the front porch, otherwise "I can't get no satisfaction", but I tried
